TEACHING TO SHARE ATTENTION
ALPACAS
We rescued our alpacas from a meat farm three years ago. Previously shy, skittish, and standoffish – they are now enthusiastic, eager, and confident learners. With confidence comes increased competition, so Ken Ramirez is teaching them how to share attention.
In this session, all five alpacas come to station and wait patiently for their turn, which is a major accomplishment. He works on targeting with four of the five and tactile with two of the five. It was a good session!

This is a question. Is it possible to come and watch without bringing an animal?
Yes! In our courses, students learn in the classroom and are paired with our resident Ranch animals to practice the skills they are learning. We do not encourage students to bring animals to the Ranch with the exception of Dog/Handler spots in Guest at The Ranch workshops.
If I could only teach my guinea pigs to accept touch like this!! Thank you Ken and KPA. This is lovely.
